Tauri 2.12.0

Overview

Tauri 2.12.0, released September 27, 2026, is the first minor release in the 2.x line to formally retire legacy operating-system support and reorganize how app-bound navigation is configured.

Breaking Changes

Official support for Windows 7 has been dropped. The project also introduced a formal Minimum Supported Rust Version (MSRV) policy, raising the floor to unblock long-stalled dependency updates that had been held back to keep compatibility with older toolchains.

New Features

• App-bound domain navigation: the new limitNavigationsToAppBoundDomains config value, plus the WebviewBuilder::limit_navigations_to_app_bound_domains method, constrains a webview to a whitelisted set of domains.
• Added a config option to override the app-bound domain set on WebviewWindowBuilder instances.

Changes

The unstable Window::add_child API removed its position and size parameters; use the new bounds, size, and position methods instead.
