Expo 57.0.9

Release Date: July 29, 2026

OK EXPO 57.0.9 JUST DROPPED ☕️ The expo package hit npm on July 29, 2026, and it's the new latest stable. Period.

This is a patch drop in the SDK 57 train — exactly one week after 57.0.8 shipped on July 22. The team is on a weekly cadence and they are NOT slowing down. Period.

What Changed

Patch releases in the 57 line bundle bug fixes and stability improvements for the expo package and its native modules. That's the deal with every 57.0.x drop — hotfixes land fast so your app doesn't sit on broken stuff. Period.

57.0.9 is the version npm's latest tag points to right now. If you run npx expo install expo@latest, this is what you get. Period.

Why It Matters

Weekly patch cadence means one thing: fixes ship the week they're ready, not the month after. The SDK 57 line has been moving like this since it stabilized — 57.0.6 and 57.0.7 both landed mid-July, 57.0.8 on July 22, now 57.0.9. If you're on SDK 57, staying current is a five-minute job. Period.

And if you're still on SDK 56? The gap is getting wider every week. Just saying. Period.

What's Next

Update your project, run your test suite, ship. The drill:

  • npx expo install expo@latest — grab 57.0.9 now
  • Rebuild your dev client if you use one — native modules changed
  • Check the changelog at expo.dev/changelog for the full patch notes
  • Keep an eye out — SDK 58 preview chatter is already out there 🔗

Go update rn. Your app will thank you. Period. ☕️
